Poetry is defined as composition in verse or language exhibiting conscious attention to patterns.

The purpose for Poetic Settings is to have a place for those of us who may have an inkling of artistic verbal attributes to post their thoughts of expression. I find the art of expression tremendously gratifying because it stirs and unlocks the imagination to allow those thoughts of the day that may be lingering within to find their way to the surface to present themselves.

Poetry has and will continue to express every possible emotion the human being can feel. Whether expressions of love, anger, disappointment, frustration, fear or anticipation, poetry will always be a language all to itself with a life of its own. From great masters like William Shakespeare, William Henley, Emily Dickinson, Ralph Emerson, Walt Whitman, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Elizabeth Browning (just to name a few) prose remains an important and intricate part of our history with illustrations of words in varied degrees of talent that becomes timeless.
